Advanced Centre for Radio Frequency Ablation

Minimally Invasive Tumor Treatment with Precision Technology

Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive procedure used to destroy tumors using controlled heat energy. It is commonly used for liver tumors, metastatic lesions, and selected pancreatic or soft tissue tumors when surgery may not be suitable.

Our centre utilizes image-guided RFA techniques to precisely target and destroy abnormal tissue while preserving surrounding healthy structures. This approach offers effective tumor control with shorter hospital stay and faster recovery compared to traditional surgery.

RFA Consultation

RFA is often recommended for patients with small tumors or those who are not ideal candidates for major surgery.

During consultation, our specialists perform:

  • Detailed clinical evaluation

  • Imaging studies (CT scan / MRI / Ultrasound)

  • Tumor size and location assessment

  • Liver function evaluation (for liver tumors)

  • Multidisciplinary tumor board discussion when required

The procedure is typically performed under imaging guidance by inserting a thin probe into the tumor. Heat generated by radiofrequency energy destroys cancer cells while minimizing damage to nearby tissue.

When Is RFA Recommended?

  • Small primary liver cancers

  • Liver metastases not suitable for surgery

  • Patients unfit for major surgical procedures

  • Recurrent tumors after previous surgery

  • Selected cases requiring combination therapy with chemotherapy

Our Focus

  • Precise image-guided tumor targeting

  • Minimally invasive technique with minimal discomfort

  • Short hospital stay and quick recovery

  • Preservation of healthy liver tissue

  • Integration with chemotherapy or targeted therapy when required

  • Structured follow-up imaging for monitoring treatment response
